☘️ St. Patrick & The Return of the Divine Feminine: A Turning Point for Ireland? ☘️

St. Patrick, arriving in Ireland around 432 AD, is celebrated as the man who brought Christianity to the land. But did he bring spiritual enlightenment, or the beginning of religious control?

The famous tale of “driving the snakes out” is often seen as a symbol of wiping out indigenous spiritual power—Kundalini energy and the reverence for the Divine Feminine. Before Patrick, Ireland was a land of balance, where the Divine was both masculine and feminine.

Even the land itself reflected this balance. The very name Éire comes from the goddess Ériu, and many rivers and sacred places carried the names of goddesses, honoring the feminine energy of the land:
🌊 Shannon (Sionann) – “Wise River,” named after Sionann, who sought the well of wisdom and was transformed into the river.
🌊 Boyne (Boann) – “White Cow Goddess,” representing abundance, poetic inspiration, and the sacred feminine.
🌊 Bann (An Bhanna) – Simply “The Goddess,” a tribute to the divine feminine presence in the land.

Beyond rivers, Ireland has long honored goddesses who embodied power, sovereignty, fertility, and protection:
🔥 Ériu – The sovereignty goddess of Ireland, for whom the island is named, representing the land itself.
🔥 Brigid – The goddess of poetry, healing, and smithcraft, later transformed into Saint Brigid to integrate her into Christianity.
🔥 Macha – A warrior goddess, associated with strength, fertility, and kingship, proving that power was not just masculine.
🔥 Danu (Anu) – The Mother Goddess of the Tuatha Dé Danann, representing wisdom, creation, and the land’s fertility.

Ireland’s Ancient Laws: A Land That Honored Women ⚖️

Ireland was once guided by Brehon Law, an ancient legal system dating back at least 2,500–3,000 years (around 1000–1200 BC). Unlike many societies at the time, these laws recognised the power and rights of women, reflecting an Ireland that honoured the feminine:

✅ Women could own property, inherit land, and run businesses.
✅ Women had the right to divorce if their husband mistreated them.
✅ Marriage was seen as a contract, where both partners had legal protections.
✅ There were women warriors, poets, and leaders, showing that feminine power was respected in all areas of life.
✅ The laws protected mothers and children, ensuring they were cared for and not abandoned.

But with the spread of Christianity, this connection to land, nature, and divine balance was severed. Patriarchy replaced partnership. Power became centralized. Women lost their standing. And with it, centuries of repression, guilt, and disconnection followed.

We were told our traditions were wrong.

🔥 A Time of Awakening 🔥

But here’s the truth: the fire never went out.

I love Jesus, we love God. Ireland has always been known as the land of saints and scholars—a land of deep reverence for the Divine, and there always will be, God willing.

But it’s time to see the bigger picture. To heal the wound, acknowledge the shadow, and reclaim what was lost—not by rejecting the Divine, nor by rejecting Jesus, but by restoring the balance.

✨ It’s not about fighting the past. It’s about walking forward, whole.
✨ It’s about reconnecting—with the land, with spirit, with the Divine Mother who has never left us.
✨ It’s about embracing both light and shadow, truth and transformation.

Because Ireland needs it. The world needs it.

My St. Patrick’s Day ☘️

So this year, I stayed in. I lit candles. I talked to life. I listened to life.
I honored the Great Mother, the Divine Feminine and Masculine.

I stepped forward on my path—not with guilt, not with shame, but with balance. I take responsibility for my journey, and I receive the gift that this day brings in a space of gratitude for the true spirit of this land.

A spirit that guides us, that lives through us, that is awakening in so many who seek to walk in truth, in authenticity, and in love.

I honour you.
I honour the artists of this land.

I honour the families of this land.
I honour the heart of this land.
